Lesson 5: Inquiry Wrap-up, Presentations, Review

Summary:
Students will have time to finish up their inquiry activity and will present their pedigrees to the class, with explanation of what they have done and why. This will complete the unit as well as introduce part of the next chapter. With the last part of class, I will review briefly what students can expect on their test.

Objective:
The student will show their completed pedigree with full explanation.
The student will review the key concepts of this inheritance chapter.

Materials:
  • Students' pedigrees
  • Test review

Instruction:
Opening
- Has anyone found that their hypothesis was correct? Incorrect? Why?

Activities
1. Finish up the Pedigree Activity

2. Presentations
  • Start presentations for students (individually, so about 3 minutes per presentation)
  • Choose students at random to present

3. Test Review
  • Go over layout of the test
  • Main concepts
  • Practice questions and problems

Closing
- Any last minute questions about the presentations and test

Notes:
Collect pedigrees and questions/summary. Test next class. Continue presentations after the test.
